“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave”

Elmer Davis

First Director, Office of War Information

As individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole, we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our military forces that preserve the freedom we all enjoy.   As we reap the benefit of their constant dedication and sacrifice, these veterans and their families deserve our eternal appreciation.

Programs providing this recognition and honor for their  commitment are vitally important.  They  promote tradition and patriotism, inherent in our history, to instill and perpetuate these beliefs each day and in the years to come.  The annual Ellis County Veterans Appreciation Day is one such event – expressing  gratitude and respect for veterans in this community and worldwide, as guardians of our democracy.
