Veterans Day

In attending Veterans Day events, we  join voices in gratitude and celebration for the service of our military forces.  The Ellis County Veterans Appreciation Day, a moving and emotional  tribute, touches the hearts and minds of  all in attendance.  Held at the Waxahachie Civic Center, amid the beautiful grounds of their monument, veterans and families rejoice in unison and a WWII soldier of 104 makes his annual  pilgrimage.

A Pledge of Allegiance and God Bless America  echo with a responding audience while  a swing band and accompanying singers set the mood.   Poignant images reflect military men and women from each era, as military emblems and songs  denote each branch.  The reading of a veteran’s story, representing all who serve, and a  visual  history  of Normandy and D-Day complete a wonderful and unique event.

A wreath laying ceremony and vintage-aircraft flyover conclude a grateful celebration in honor of our veterans.
